Hen Hunts

The Hen Hunts are available for the ladies only. They are put together so that you girls can learn to shoot and to hunt. For the hunting parties that have never hunted before we will go through all aspects of the hunt.

We will start by teaching you how to shoot a gun, which will include time on the shooting range shooting clay pigeons to get you used to swinging the gun and following through your shot so you can bring down your target. From there we will take you through a day of hunting from setting up a decoy spread to the end of the day with the cleaning of your prey.

We will also show you some dog work so you have an idea of what to expect when you get into the field.

You will find that there will be things that are very similar between Texas and Minnesota, but there will also be differences. You will find the land and ponds we hunt to be different between the two areas. While goose hunting in Minnesota we will be hunting in harvested fields that have been worked black and the birds will be feeding on grains left in the fields. Where as in Texas most of the fields will be in stubble or where the grasses have started growing back. You will need to bring a variety of clothing for both very cold weather and warm weather and also for wet weather. Just because there is some rain in the air doesn’t mean that we won’t be going on a hunt.

You will be able to find more information on what to expect on the hunt by checking out either the Texsota Outfitters page or the Butch’s Guide Service page. All of the contact information you will need can be found on those pages.

Guys, here’s your big chance. You can book a hunt for your better half and her girlfriends. There are a lot of ladies out there that would love to hunt or at least try it, but you know that you don’t have the patience to do this with her. That’s where we come in, we have the patience and knowledge to teach them. Another possibility would be to book a couples hunt where the guys hunt by themselves and the girls hunt by themselves and then you can compare who did better at the end of the day.

Remember! Fishing is also available with Capt. Chad Hartman of Extreme Island Adventure.
